Two persons sustained serious injuries after a hydrogen gas cylinder exploded in Birtamod Municipality-7 on Tuesday.
Forty-four-year-old Ganesh Sahani and a 15-year-old girl were injured after the gas cylinder ruptured while inflating balloons during a sporting event at the Bells Model English Boarding School.
Sahani’s right leg was severed in the accident while the ninth-grader sustained minor injuries to her ears.
The victims have been admitted to B & C Medical College Teaching Hospital for treatment, said police.
